[VIDEO] Nîmes: with friends or family, they had their fill of games at the Ludimes festival

The fourth edition of the Ludimes festival opens this Saturday, November 12. A variety of new board games will delight young and old, with family or friends.

In the classrooms of the Carmelites, an air of recreation reigns this Saturday, November 12. Offices are transformed into game boards and colorful posters adorn the blackboards on the occasion of the 4th edition of Ludimes.

New full games

In the premises of the University of Nîmes, facilitators guide the public through some 80 board games, all new. Most were released this year 2022, and a dozen are still in the experimental phase. For the second consecutive year, the organizing association Un pion c’est tout integrates creators still looking for publishers…and players.

From a simple deck of cards to an elaborate setup, Boom! has evolved.

Among them, Sylvain Santos, from Aramon with his “prototype” which he has been working on for a year. By having him tested at festivals, his strategy game Boom! now has a completely different form to that of the start: the cards display different powers, a modern board represents the “battlefield”. A strategic game appreciated by young and old, according to the reaction of the parents of young Simon, five years old: ” The fantasy and war side, he likes it. And thn the same time it is subtle! “

Priority to relaxation

Depending on age groups, tastes, level, the offers are varied, but all have the same objective: to allow visitors to have fun together.

“The game is unifying.” insists Patrice Bouterin, treasurer of Un pion c’est tout. Many people come with family…or between families, as is the case with the Gosselins, Nîmes, and the Boudouresque, Castilhonnais. “We wanted to do something together and we ended up here to play” says Emeric Gosselin.

An opportunity for family fun.

The Muller family comes every year from Avignon to “test a bit of everything”. A facilitator explains the rules of Critical, designed to introduce people to role-playing. “We just wanted to learn how to play this type of game” smiles Frank. The approach of this motivated family confirms the words of Frédéric Ormières, manager of the company Linkkipeli, co-organizer of the event: “Without ever destroying the relaxation side, any game brings something in terms of skill.”
