Although the two sons of Meghan Markle and the prince harry are entitled to royal titles after King Charles III became monarch, not yet have announced name changes for three-year-old Archie Harrison and one-year-old Lilibet Diana.

Following Queen Elizabeth’s death on September 8, her eldest son Charles became king and announced that his wife Camilla would be his queen consort. It was also confirmed that Prince William, and his daughter-in-law Kate Middleton, would inherit the titles of Prince and Princess of Wales. The royal family’s website has been updated to reflect these changes, but Prince Harry and Meghan’s children still appear “Master Archie Mountbatten-Windsor” and “Miss Lilibet Mountbatten-Windsor”.

There have been tense discussions with the royal family and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to confer the titles of prince and princess on Archie and Lilibet, who live with their parents in California.

As monarch, King Carlos III can make that decision, but it is unlikely that he will decide to do so. He will not decide or say anything on the matter while the family is in mourning, a period that lasts a week after the funeral.

“Archie will almost certainly become a prince one day. Carlos is not going to disown his grandson, so it is very unlikely that he will change the rules to prevent it from happening, ”a source told the magazine. People.

What is known is that the children of the dukes of Sussex will not gain HRH status from King Charles III.

Harry, 37, and Meghan, 41, agreed not to use their Her Royal Highness titles when they resigned from their royal roles and moved to the US. In her interview with Oprah Winfrey, Markle complained that her first child had been left without proper security.

And now they’ll be bitter that Archie and Lilibet won’t be able to get those benefits either. According to The Sunthe Sussexes noted that Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie have Her Royal Highness status, but are not active members of the royal family.

When Prince Harry and Meghan married in May 2018, the queen gave them the titles of Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Archie was entitled to the “courtesy title” of Earl of Dumbarton at birth. However, the couple announced that he would be known as Archie Mountbatten-Windsor. Later, Archie could receive the secondary title of Sussex, before inheriting the dukedom.

During Meghan and Prince Harry’s 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, the Duchess of Sussex revealed that there was a conversation about titles before Archie’s birth.

“They said they didn’t want me to be a prince or a princess and that I wasn’t going to get security,” Meghan said. “This continued through the last few months of my pregnancy.” And she went on to say that she would have accepted a title for Archie if “it meant he was going to be safe.”

“And it’s not our decision,” he said. “That is your birthright.”

In his first speech as monarch, King Charles mentioned his youngest son and daughter-in-law.

“I also want to express my love for Harry and Meghan as they continue to build their lives abroad,” he said.
