New partnership between the Zouari family and Franprix

The businessman’s family office has just finalized a new partnership with the subsidiary of the Casino group, which should result in the opening of 75 new stores.

Moez-Alexandre Zouari wishes to accelerate its strategy of setting up local shops. The businessman has just signed a new master franchise contract with the Franprix brand, a subsidiary of the Casino group. This partnership should result in the opening of 75 new points of sale in France.

“I am delighted with the renewal of the agreement linking Franprix to the Zouari family. This early renewal will allow the Group to further accelerate the establishment of the promising formats that are Franprix stores in urban and peri-urban areas”Explain Jean-Charles NaouriChairman and CEO of the Casino Group in a press release.

These new stores will therefore be added to the 1,000 existing Franprix stores. We also remember that at the beginning of July 2022, the subsidiary of the Casino group had inaugurated its 1000e store in Marseille.

This partnership is therefore fully in line with Moez-Alexandre Zouari’s strategy, both in terms of proximity and therefore in terms of food. This echoes recently the takeover of Boulangerie Louise, a brand founded in 2010 by Laurent Menissez, by InVivo Retail, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Teract. For the record, in April 2022, 2MX Organic, entity created by Xavier Niel, Matthieu Pigasse and Moez-Alexandre Zouari concluded a merger with InVivo to give birth, via InVivo Retail, to the group’s distribution arm, Teract, a new company with a mission and certified B-Corp. Thus, InVivo Retail is made up of a portfolio of 1,600 stores organized around the garden center brands Gamm vert, Jardiland, Delbard and Jardineries du Terroir, the food retailer Frais d’Ici and Bio&Co and the pet store Noa.

About this new partnership with Casino, Moez-Alexandre Zouari also explains: “We jointly created Pro Distribution 25 years ago, convinced that the convenience format was a buoyant, resilient and innovative format. Today, it still meets a real need for consumers. With our experience and expertise in local commerce, our ambition is to accelerate our development and expansion plan for the years to come.” Already reference shareholder of the Picard brandthe family office of the Zouari family recently expanded its activities by acquiring Stokomani and Maxi Bazar (300 stores)two discount specialists.
