The 25-year-old was arrested at a home in the town of Pérez for his alleged participation in extortion and shootings, police sources reported.
According to the justice spokesmen, the detainee was related to a part of the gang, so the operational brigade of the Criminal Investigation Agency (AIC) arrived at a house in Jacarandá at 200, in an area contiguous with Rosario towards West. There, the investigative police seized a cell phone and two motorcycles, a Yamaha YBR and a Guerrero brand.

In this sense, Uriel Cantero, son of the former head of the organization, the murdered Claudio “Bird” Canterohas been detained since the beginning of this year when the police seized an arsenal of weapons from his home in the city of Rosario.
As detailed, last March, prosecutor Franco Carbone charged them with preventive detention for attempted extortion and threats. According to the investigation, the young people demanded money under this condition.
However, this is not the only investigation in which the name of Uriel Cantero appears. In October, prosecutor Marisol Fabbro charged Cantero and his girlfriend Erika Bullón, along with 25 other people, as leaders of an illegal association that would have committed multiple crimes, and which also included the mother of “Lucho”, Lorena Verdún. .
The prosecutor pointed out on that occasion that the organization “tried to occupy and dominate sectors and neighborhoods of the city of Rosario and to exclude antagonistic gangs from there in order to obtain economic benefits as a result of various illegal activities, such as their territorial expansion.”
To achieve this objective, the members of the association committed various crimes” such as homicides, injuries, cover-ups, threats, extortion, abuse of weapons, illegal possession and possession of firearms, and illegal sale of narcotics, the prosecutor listed.
According to what was stated by prosecutors from Rosario in successive judicial investigations, extortion and shootings are part of the strategy of the ‘Los Monos’ gang. It is for this same crime that Érica Elena Bullón, partner of Uriel Luciano ‘Lucho’ Cantero, was sentenced to three years in effective prison.
According to the accusation, made by prosecutors Matías Edery and Luis Schiappa Pietra of the Organized Crime Agency, Bullón, 23, followed to the letter the instructions that her boyfriend gave her from prison, which detailed demanding 200,000 dollars to the victims.
In the event that the payment did not arrive, the plan was for them to take steps before the Public Prosecutor’s Office to obtain the return of the Renegade truck that had been kidnapped from “Lucho” Cantero during the raids last January in which he was arrested. with an arsenal of weapons in his house in Caña de Ámbar at 1700, in the La Granada neighborhood.
According to what the prosecutors explained, first Cantero and then Bullón demanded those who participated in the sale of the Jeep to recover the vehicle before the judicial authorities. Given the refusal of these people, the extortions began via WhatsApp messages, Facebook and also phone calls to ask them for money: 100 thousand dollars each.
“Even, on one occasion, Érica Bullón invited and forced them to go to her home. There, she exhibited a handwritten letter from Cantero who was detained in Marcos Paz, where the threat was concrete, ”says the accusation against the young couple of criminals.
During the course of the case, the mechanics that “Lucho” Cantero used to communicate with the victims from prison was also explained. According to the evidence collected: “he called Bullón from Marcos Paz and she triangulated him with the victims. That is, she diverted the call and made Cantero communicate directly with the victims. There are recorded audios that are part of the evidence.”
The criminal wave does not seem to stop despite the fact that Cantero’s son was arrested. From then on, the young man was accused of allegedly leading an illegal association, of abusing weapons and of instigating a crime on June 21, 2021 in Anchorena and Balcarce, in the South, whose victim was Damián Gómez, who sold narcotics for him, according to the hypothesis of the Intentional Homicide prosecutor Gastón Ávila.
