Every week, The Press scans the TV offer to identify four titles to watch.

The novelty : Fleishman Is in Trouble

We were eagerly awaiting this new series, in particular because of the trio of actors it stars, Jesse Eisenberg, Claire Danes and Lizzy Caplan. Are we 100% convinced after watching two episodes? No. The television adaptation of Taffy Brodesser-Akner’s novel (in French, Fleishman is in trouble) however gives us enough good promises for us to continue the adventure. On the script side, let’s say we’re telling the story of a recently divorced 41-year-old father who reconnects with his old friends as he discovers the joys of dating apps. It’s extremely wordy (think old Woody Allen comedies), but surprisingly addictive.

The safe bet: Ends the week well

Ends the week well hit a major milestone this week: 300 shows. To highlight this brand, Julie Bélanger and Jean-Michel Anctil gather around them each of the personalities who have hosted the popular talk show since it went on the air in September 2010: José Gaudet, Isabelle Racicot and Mélanie Maynard. Nostalgia promises to be there, as are their best — and worst — filming memories. The duo also receives Guy A. Lepage, who revisits the highlights of a career that stretches over five decades, and Sam Breton, who will step over the “torture chair”.

Catch-up: Trajectories

30 years ago, Manon Rhéaume became the first woman to play in the NHL. To highlight this feat, RDS devotes a full episode of Trajectories, a documentary series focusing on the careers of former hockey players. Premiered on Friday, the one-hour program revisits the path strewn with pitfalls of the Quebec athlete, who has suffered her share of pernicious criticism. “From the comments that were made about me today, these people would lose their job “, Says the ex-goalkeeper. We remember his two gold medals at the world championships, his silver medal at the Olympic Games and, above all, his strength of character.

RDS 2, Tuesday, 10:30 p.m. and Wednesday, 5 p.m. (also available on Crave)

The documentary : Anna and Arnaud: rebuilding the bond

After presenting the fiction series with Guylaine Tremblay and Nico Racicot, TVA offers a one-hour companion documentary carried by Francine Ruel, during which she talks with Sophie and Thierry, each parent of a child who suffers from addiction. In addition to diving into two loaded family stories, the author explores hers, with her son Étienne, who continues to have serious problems with consumption (cocaine). Produced by Pixcom (Autistic, coming of age soon) in collaboration with Quebecor Content, Anna and Arnaud: rebuilding the bond studies the feeling of guilt that gnaws at these three parents, who feel they have failed in their duties.
