After the first episode dedicated to the launch of the Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini, the second appointment with the World Ducati Premiére features the Monster SP, the sportiest of the family

D.to date, in the 2023 range, the Ducati Monster family is expanding. After Monster (i.e. the latest 950 version launched in 2021) and the Monster + it is the turn of the Monster SPtop model of the series whose roots go back to the distant past 1993.
With all the inevitable and predictable developments of the case, almost 30 years have passed …, the setting has not changed of this naked with character: the combination of a sporty engine and a superbike-derived frame.
THEThe heart of the Monster is the Testastretta 11 °the 90 ° V-twin of 937 of the Italian Civil Codeliquid cooled and with desmodromic distribution eight valves capable of delivering 111 horsepower at 9,250 rpm.
The frame Front Frame is inspired by that of the Panigale V4: a light and compact structure in aluminium alloy fixed to the motor heads.
It is the modern reinterpretation of the recipe that gave life to the naked segment and that takes a step forward with the new Monster SP, a lighter bike, fun in sporty driving and more aesthetically aggressive.
La Monster SP will arrive in dealerships a January 2023also in version weakened for driving with an A2 license: in this case the reduction on the list price (set starting from 15,390 euros) is 1,000 euros.
There coloring it recalls the colors of the official Desmosedici GP 2022, the fork is standard Öhlins NIX30 and the approved silencer Termignoni. Note then the saddle in red, the Monster SP logo on the passenger seat cover and the Ducati logo on the tank, which is larger and inspired by the graphics of the Panigale V4.
The SP boasts better braking performance and reduced load transfers; the Öhlins suspension is fully adjustable and the fork is 600 grams lighter than that of the other two Monster versions; also have sportier calibrations. There are thesteering damper and Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tires.
THEl strengthening of the braking system, with calipers Brembo Stylema and aluminum flanges for the 320 mm front brake discs (less than 0.5 kg compared to the Monster equipment) makes the SP stronger in braking and also more agile.
The general easing is also due to lithium ion batterywith an overall saving of approx 2 kg compared to the standard model and despite the addition of the steering damper and the fairing. The curb weight is stated in 186 kg.
Lelectronics see recalibrate the Riding Modes and consequently all the electronic controls, then comes a new Riding Mode Wet dedicated to wet bottoms.
The standard electronic equipment – among the most complete in the category – includes Cornering ABS, Traction Control and Wheelie Control, all adjustable in intervention levels. Added to these is the Launch Control for stationary starts.
THE riding mode, Sport, Road and Wet, can be managed from the controls on the handlebar and via the dashboard 4.3 “color TFT which incorporates the graphics of the Panigale V4: large rev counter and a series of information on the left, including the gear engaged.
