The final evening

The closing ceremony of the 79th Venice International Film Festival this evening will be opened by an artistic contribution from the cellist Hauser. The Ceremony from the Sala Grande of the Palazzo del Cinema (Lido di Venezia), which will award the Golden Lion for the best film and other official prizes, will be broadcast live starting at 7 pm on Rai Movie and in streaming on the official website and on social media of the Venice Biennale and will be hosted by Rocío Muñoz Morales. Hauser will bring to the stage of the Sala Grande a new version of Historia de un amor, a song composed by the Panamanian musician Arturo «Chino» Hassán (1911-1974) in 1955 in the form of a bolero. The song was used as a soundtrack in 1956 in the film of the same name directed by Roberto Gavaldón, and was later performed by international artists.

From the moment he decided to approach a musical experience different from the tradition of classical, pop and rock music, Hauser has performed in concert halls around the world, challenging the established conventions of the music world. Starting with his iconic performance of Smooth Criminal, the song that launched him, and ever since he co-founded the duo 2Cellos, Hauser has captivated audiences worldwide.
